The total turnover decreased by 88% as compared to last week as the market opened only for two days, and also due to the minimal participation of investors largely on account of the extended festival holidays. On a positive front, Nepal SBI Bank (+Rs.20) and NIC Bank (+Rs.30) seems to defy the market trend as its share value continued to advance despite its benefit announcements.
The Commercial Banking sector (+0.30%) posted the highest gain among the sub Indices as, share value of Lumbini Bank Limited (+Rs.18), NIC Bank (+Rs.30), and Siddhartha Bank (+Rs.18) appreciated. Likewise, the Development Banking sector (+0.24%) continued to impress investors as Miteri Development Bank Limited (+Rs.39), and Manakamana Development Bank (+Rs.14) ended amongst the top gainers list. Furthermore, the Hydropower sector (+0.06%) booked a marginal gain as share value of Chilime Hydropower Company (+Rs.20) and Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company (+Rs.5) ascended. Meanwhile, the 'Others' sector (0.0%) remained unchanged, as share value of Nepal Telecom closed at Rs.450. Nevertheless, the remaining sectors couldn't sustain to their previous week's gain. The Finance Sector (-1.17%) posted the biggest loss as Reliable Finance (-Rs.14) and Crystal Finance Limited (-Rs.8) share value plummeted. The Insurance Sector (-0.60%) also toppled as share value of Surya Life Insurance (-Rs.8) and Asian Life Insurance Company (-Rs.4) went down.
Amongst news and highlights, Nepal Stock Exchange is in the process of selecting 27 new share brokers out of 34 share broking firm applicant companies within the first week of November. Nepal Sri Lanka Merchant Banking & Finance (NSLMB) has merged with Nepal Bangladesh Bank (NBB), the shareholders of NSLMB will be entitled to get one unit of NBB share for two units of NSLMB share. NEPSE suspended trading of 25 listed companies during the week due to delay in making payment for the annual listing renewal fee, the trading of 9 companies has resumed from Thursday as they have made the necessary renewal fees to NEPSE.
On the declaration front, Reliable Finance Limited is holding its 5th AGM on 14th Nov., for which it is closing its book on 29th October; it will propose 26.32% cash dividend. Similarly, Miteri Development Bank and Prime Commercial Bank are closing its book on 24th and 29th October respectively for the purpose of issuing 1:1 right shares. Likewise, Nepal Aawas Bikas Beeta Company, Nepal Life Insurance Company and Life Insurance Corporation have announced to give 8%, 5.62% and 5.26% cash dividend respectively from the current year's earnings. Guheyshwori Merchant Banking & Finance has declared to give out 12% bonus shares and 5% cash dividend.

Technical analysis indicators signal the continuation of the short term up-trend for the coming week however; lower volume level is a key concern.
